From the workshop of the best humor in this region comes the Sarajevo theatrical hit - the hilarious monocomedy “Bosanac na odmoru” (A Bosnian on Vacation), in which the excellent actor Rijad Gvozden plays multiple roles and makes the audience laugh to tears.
The uproarious hit comedy Bosanac na odmoru is a humorous confession of a husband who returns from his vacation three times more tired than when he left.
The exceptional actor Rijad Gvozden plays multiple roles and makes the audience laugh uncontrollably. Laughing in the face of hardship is popular in our culture and a way we survive tough and sometimes impossible moments. This is exactly the essence of Bosanac na odmoru. Rijad talks about his vacation at the seaside, which, due to excessive responsibilities and his exhausting wife Begajeta, turned into a true nightmare. To convey this to the audience, he must play several characters. The comic conflicts between the couple over unnecessary clothes, different interests, and spending money trigger bursts of laughter from the audience. The monodrama also addresses addictions, even on the beach – addiction to mobile phones and social media.
When tickets are sold out after 9 years of performing a play, it's considered a great success, say cultural critics. He graduated from the Academy of Performing Arts in Sarajevo. He has also performed in numerous theater productions, but his greatest success came with his monocomedy Bosanac na odmoru.
Bosanac na odmoru was created based on the text Mora od odmora by Esmir Salihović, who wanted to humorously depict the struggles of a family with three children through the husband’s confession, trying to make the 10 days of planned vacation as pleasant as possible. The final outcome is – the need for a vacation after the vacation.
