Ensemble Dialogos & Katarina Livljanić, voice

Because of the dialogue between the present and the past, the Dialogos ensemble was created in 1997 by the musicologist and singer Katarina Livljanić, a professor at the renowned Schola Cantorum in Basel, whose programs revive, often in the form of plays, the musical past as it could have been, basing its performances on careful researching the music of early eras, especially of the Middle Ages. Among the many programs, of which Tondal's vision, Terra Adriatica, Heretic Angels, Baarlam and Josafat, Dalmatica, as well as the more recent Hekuba, Judita stands out. In Judita, the mystical and archaic, ancient musical-linguistic code, preserved through the centuries in Dalmatian folk song, comes to life - it is about setting to music the text that marked the beginning of the Croatian written word, Judita Marko Marulić, whose five hundredth anniversary we are celebrating this year. Judith, a kind of contemporary church mystery, is based on reconstructions of various Gregorian, Beneventan and Glagolitic sources of medieval Dalmatia and music composed according to the preserved oral tradition of Glagolitic singing. It was created in 2006 and since then it has been performed with great success on numerous world and domestic stages.
